BEHAVIOR SPECIALIST
NOME PUBLIC SCHOOLS
Range D ($22.28/hr-$32.75/hour) DOE
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associates Degree or equivalent preferred. High School diploma required.
- Ability to work well with high-risk students, parents, community groups and staff and take directions as assigned.
- Ability to communicate effectively and provide instruction in the area of Social/Emotional Learning (SEL).
- Work with the Site Admin Team with regards to implementation of Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS) programs.
- Has valid Alaska Drivers License and good driving record.
REPORTS TO:
Building Principal, Assistant Principal (AP)
JOB GOAL:
Coordinate and provide support for In-School Suspension (ISS) and Out of School Suspension (OSS) at Nome-Beltz Middle/High School.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist building admin in providing academic supervision and support for students who have been suspended or temporarily placed out of their regular classroom.
- Provide support for SEL and PBIS programs as directed by site administration, transport students home if needed, and monitor assignment completion for assigned students.
Terms of Employment: Nine-month position during the school year. Conditions of employment are as established by, and in accordance with, the provisions of School Board policy and District Work Agreement.
