- Support planning and coordination of program and its activities.
- Ensure implementation and compliance of YMCA, State and School guidelines, policies and procedures.
- Ensure individual needs of children are met.
- Maintain positive relationships with staff, families, school personnel and volunteers.
- Maintain an environment that ensures children, staff and family safety and well being
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities that advance all areas of children's development and learning, including social, emotional, intellectual and physical competency
- Conduct program in accordance with YMCA goals and principles of developmentally appropriate practices
- Supervise and mentor group leaders and support staff.
- Support program growth and development.
- Ensure zero tolerance for abuse and actively participate in the protection of youth and teens.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS-(also see State or Director Variance requirements):
- Must be at least 18 years of age (see specific requirements)
- Possess at least 1 year experience working in child care/camp/recreation or related field.
- Ability to use typical business software and office equipment.
- Strong communication, organization and detail skills.
- Understanding of the role of volunteerism within the YMCA.
- Must have strong leadership skills, be self-motivated and possess knowledge of group work principles.
Program Specific Requirements
Site Director-Exemption or Variance
- Certification in the following areas per required timeline:
- Principals of Early Learning & Afterschool
- Engaging Youth 5-9
- Engaging Youth 9-12
- School Are Child Care Director
