Overview
The Beach Parking Attendant sells beach parking permits on the Gulf of Mexico beach front. This position handles money and maintains accurate records. The incumbent will assist citizens and tourists when on the beach, sell permits, give directions, and provide litter awareness information and other services as needed. This position will provide excellent customer service. The candidate must be able to work outdoors for 6 hours shifts. The selected applicant will be working on the beach front on Padre and Mustang Islands.
Responsibilities
• Provides excellent customer service by communicating with staff and the public by selling permits, distributing beach information, and emptying trash bags for patrons. • Accounts for permits, changes funds, and balances out at the beginning and end of shift. • Accounts for wireless payment charges. • Maintains and cleans fleet equipment and storage facilities.
Position Type and Typical Hours of Work
Non-Exempt-Temp-Part-Time-30 hours a week Must be available to work additional hours as needed. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is a schedule requirement. In the event of an emergency, employees are required to work to provide for the safety and well-being of the public, including the delivery and restoration of vital services.

Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or current student Must be at least sixteen (16) years of age No prior experience is required
Licenses and Certifications Required
Class C Drivers License - if over the age of 18

Basis of Rating
A recruitment consultant will evaluate all applications against the posted qualifications. The city may also conduct additional skill assessment tests in addition to the panel interview.
