Seasonal Cellar Technician - La Crema Winery

We are located in the heart of the Russian River Valley of Northern California with over 40 years of history producing acclaimed Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the general direction of the Cellar Manager successful applicants will have the opportunity to learn the harvest process including Crush Pad Operations, Fermentation Management, Barrel Operations and Winery Sanitation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES:

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Cleaning, sanitizing, and sterilizing all winery equipment and facilities.
• Racking and pumping of juice and wine; moving hoses and equipment.
• Making chemical and nutrient additions to juice and wine.
• Obtaining lab samples from tanks and barrels.
• Operating crush pad equipment.
• Forklift operation moving barrels and bins
• Following and observing all safe cellar practices.
• Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• The ability to communicate effectively with good skills in reading, writing and basic math are required.
• Must be able to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules and procedures, and be able to read cellar work orders, count barrels, record times and dates.
• Individuals selected for this position must be reliable, punctual and have a good work ethic.
• Must be willing to work flexible hours including overtime and varying shifts.
• This position requires the ability to reach with hands and arms, sit, walk, climb, stoop, and kneel, and be able to regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to provide proof of ability to work in the United States.

We pay a shift differential for Night Shift.

WAGE TRANSPARENCY:

The pay for this role ranges from $18.50 - $25 per hour. Compensation will be determined by candidate experience, skills, and location.

RESUMEN DEL PUESTO:

FUNCIONES/RESPONSABILIDADES ESENCIALES:

• Limpieza, desinfección y esterilización de todos los equipos e instalaciones de la bodega.
• Manejo y bombeo de jugo y vino; mangueras y equipos móviles.
• Hacer adiciones químicas y de nutrientes al jugo y al vino.
• Obtención de muestras de laboratorio de tanques y barriles.
• Operar equipos de Recibo de uvas.
• Operación de montacargas moviendo barricas y contenedores.
• Seguir y observar todas las prácticas de seguridad de la bodega.
• Otras funciones asignadas por el supervisor.

REQUISITOS DEL PUESTO:

• Se requiere la capacidad de comunicarse de manera efectiva con buenas habilidades en lectura, escritura y matemáticas básicas.
• Debe ser capaz de leer e interpretar documentos, como reglas y procedimientos de seguridad, y ser capaz de leer órdenes de trabajo de bodega, contar barriles, registrar horas y fechas.
• Las personas seleccionadas para este puesto deben ser confiables, puntuales y tener una buena ética de trabajo.
• Debe estar dispuesto a trabajar horas flexibles, incluidas horas extras y turnos variables.
• Esta posición requiere la capacidad de alcanzar con las manos y los brazos, sentarse, caminar, trepar, agacharse y arrodillarse, y ser capaz de levantar y cargar regularmente hasta 50 libras.
• Los candidatos deben completar con éxito una solicitud y aceptar los términos de las exigencias físicas.
• Debe poder proporcionar prueba de elegibilidad para trabajar en los Estados Unidos.

Se pagará una tarifa adicional por el turno de la noche.

TRANSPARENCIA SALARIAL:

$18.50 - $21 - $25 por hora
