Role Description: The Batch Application Engineer must have 10+ years of experience.
Required Skills and Experience: • Strong knowledge on application upgrades and installations. • Minimum 6 years managing the Batch Scheduling Tool - Patching, Configuration. • Minimum 2-3 years direct, hands-on experience with Redwood Run my Jobs - Day-to-Day Administration, Configuration, Troubleshooting. • Work with Project and Operation Teams to design, configure and implement batch job schedules. • Manage batch job dependencies, triggers, calendars and execution windows to meet the required SLAs. • Troubleshoot and resolve CI/CD or migration-related incidents in a timely manner. • Provide on-call support to Operation Teams for critical batch failures and incidents. • Define and schedule batch jobs, including setting execution times, priorities, and dependencies. • Monitor job execution status, track progress, and identify any errors or delays. • Investigate and resolve issues related to job scheduling, execution, and system performance. • Analyze and optimize batch job schedules to ensure efficient resource utilization and timely completion. • Maintain the batch scheduling system, including software updates, security patches, and configurations. • Collaborate with other teams to understand business requirements and ensure smooth integration of batch processes.
Preferred: • Proficiency in using batch scheduling tools and technologies (e.g., IBM Tivoli Work Scheduler, Control-M, ActiveBatch) • Understanding of Linux, Windows, and other relevant operating systems • Ability to write scripts and automate tasks for scheduling and monitoring • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve issues • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical teams
