A long-standing West Michigan building automation contractor is seeking a skilled BAS Service Technician to support their expanding Grand Rapids service team. This role offers the chance to work with a reputable firm that delivers integrated HVAC, lighting, ventilation, and access control solutions across commercial and industrial environments.

Position Details:

  • Title: BAS Service Technician
  • Location: Grand Rapids, MI
  • Hourly Rate: $30.00 – $40.00/hr (flexible based on experience)
  • Work Week: Avg. 45 hrs/week with overtime at 1.5x

What You’ll Do:

  • Install, diagnose, maintain, and repair building automation and HVAC control systems
  • Perform full system commissioning and detailed point-to-point validation
  • Configure, optimize, and start up building management system software
  • Modify, test, and troubleshoot existing BAS programs and logic sequences
  • Work alongside installation and termination teams to support field operations
  • Verify performance and calibration of field devices and control components
  • Deliver preventive maintenance, retrofit support, and system upgrades
  • Communicate clearly with owners, facility managers, and contractor partners
  • Ensure cybersecurity settings and system updates are properly executed

What You Bring:

  • Background as a BAS or Controls Service Technician
  • Strong understanding of HVAC controls, DDC systems, and BAS fundamentals
  • Ability to work independently onsite with multiple BAS platforms
  • Experience commissioning and servicing Tridium/Niagara-based systems
  • Professional communication skills and a customer-focused approach
