Bar Back 2026

The St. Petersburg Yacht Club is seeking a high-energy, reliable, and detail-oriented Bar Back to join our Downtown Food & Beverage team. As the "right hand" to our bartenders, you will be the backbone of our bar operations, ensuring that our members and guests receive the seamless, first-class service the Yacht Club is known for.

This is a fast-paced role perfect for someone who thrives in a busy environment, takes initiative, and is looking for a stable, full-time position with competitive pay.

Key Responsibilities

• Support Operations: Assist bartenders by keeping the bar stocked with liquor, beer, wine, ice, glassware, and garnishes at all times.
• Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels during service, change kegs, and restock coolers and shelves proactively.
• Cleanliness & Safety: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment behind the bar. Bus glassware, wipe down counters, and remove trash/recycling throughout the shift.
• Prep Work: Prepare garnishes (cutting fruit, etc.) and ensure all juices and mixers are fresh and ready for service.
• Team Collaboration: Assist with opening and closing duties, and support the service team on the floor when necessary to ensure member satisfaction.

Requirements

• Availability: Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Experience: Previous experience in a bar, restaurant, or hospitality setting is preferred but not required; we are willing to train the right candidate with a great attitude.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs, such as kegs and cases of beverage), stand for long periods, and move quickly in a fast-paced environment.
• Professionalism: A professional appearance and demeanor, with a commitment to providing excellent service to our private club membership.
