We are seeking a highly skilled and detail?oriented Bankruptcy Paralegal to support our client in Livingston. This role plays a critical part in managing all phases of bankruptcy matters, ensuring efficient case progression, accurate documentation, and full compliance with court requirements. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, exceptional organizational abilities, and the ability to support attorneys across a wide range of bankruptcy and litigation tasks.
Salary: $70,000-$90,000

Key Responsibilities
- Manage bankruptcy cases from initial filing through final closing
- Prepare and file Chapter 7, Chapter 11, and Chapter 13 petitions
- Draft schedules, Statements of Financial Affairs, and Chapter plans
- Prepare monthly fee statements and interim/final fee applications
- Draft and file First Day pleadings
- Conduct legal research and summarize findings or legal documents
- Draft pleadings, subpoenas, discovery requests/responses, charts, and proofs of claim
- Review and summarize pleadings, court dockets, and case materials
- Support attorneys with trial preparation, including exhibit coordination and trial notebooks
- Organize case files, trial materials, and discovery documentation
- Prepare and file adversary complaints
- Draft default documents and settlement agreements
- Assist with preference actions, fraudulent transfer matters, and recovery efforts
- Manage attorney calendars, deadlines, court appearances, and meetings
- Monitor attorney emails and correspondence
- Assist attorneys during client consultations
- Communicate with clients, trustees, creditors, and court personnel
- Prepare real estate closing packages
- Format and file pleadings in State, Bankruptcy, and District Courts
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2+ years of bankruptcy paralegal experience preferred
- Ability to meet billable hour expectations
- Litigation and E?Discovery experience a plus
- Experience preparing and filing Chapter 7, 11, and 13 cases
- Proficiency with Best Case and NetDocuments software
- Strong knowledge of court filing procedures and electronic filing systems
- Exceptional organizational, multitasking, and deadline?management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to manage a high?volume caseload with accuracy and professional
