Bank Teller

First Bank is hiring a Bank Teller to support our branch clients through accurate teller transactions, cash handling, client service, digital banking support, and needs-based referrals in a retail banking environment.

What You Will Do

The role is primarily focused on teller transactions and operations, cash handling, transaction processing, branch services, balancing, account services, customer service, and daily branch support. Approximately 75% of the role involves traditional teller and transaction processing responsibilities. The remaining 25% focuses on client conversations, relationship building, needs-based referrals, digital banking education, client engagement, and relationship retention.

You will:

  • Greet clients in a courteous, professional, and friendly manner, including greeting clients by name when possible.
  • Process bank teller transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, payments, check cashing, cash advances, account transfers, and other routine retail banking transactions.
  • Accurately balance your assigned cash drawer each day and promptly report any out-of-balance condition to branch management.
  • Follow all branch security, regulatory, audit, cash handling, dual control, hold, and compliance procedures.
  • Assist with ATM, vault, and branch operational duties as needed.
  • Support clients with digital banking tools, including online banking, mobile banking, online bill pay, debit cards, ATM use, and the Client Contact Center.
  • Listen for client needs during everyday banking conversations and identify appropriate opportunities for referrals.
  • Refer clients to the right banking partner or business area for products and services that may support their financial needs.
  • Build basic product knowledge of First Bank products and services through training, branch meetings, and ongoing communication.
  • Contribute to branch goals related to client service, referrals, relationship building, and client satisfaction.
  • Support a clean, organized, professional, and secure branch environment.

  • Prior banking, credit union, cash handling, retail banking, or financial services experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to follow procedures.
  • Professional communication skills and the ability to listen to and respond to client needs.
  • Comfort using technology and helping clients understand digital banking tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a branch environment.
  • Sound judgment and ability to identify, prevent, and escalate potential fraud or unusual activity.
  • Dependability and ability to work scheduled branch hours, including Saturdays if required.
