About Green
Green is an emerging-markets neobank providing USD-denominated spending, saving, and earning to customers who lack access to stable financial infrastructure. We serve consumers in high-inflation, currency-volatile markets — and US residents sending money home — with far cheaper, faster, and more reliable alternatives to traditional banking and remittance services. We are in the process of building the institutional infrastructure to support a potential bank charter, and we are hiring the executive team that will take us there.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a seasoned banking executive to serve as our President — the operational leader of the institution. This is a rare opportunity to stand up a banking organization from the inside: to own the trust, stewardship, and governance narrative with regulators, partners, and the public. This is not a startup generalist role. We need gray hair, regulatory gravitas, and someone who speaks the language of bankers.
What You'll Do
- Serve as the face of the institution to regulators, external counsel, and banking partners
- Own operational leadership across compliance, risk, finance, and technology functions
- Build and steward the governance and controls infrastructure required for bank charter readiness
- Deliver the institution's narrative to the OCC, Client, or state regulators as needed
- Partner with co-founders on strategic direction, capital allocation, and organizational build-out
- Recruit and lead the senior executive team
- Chair or participate in ALCO (Asset-Liability Committee) and other governance committees
What We're Looking For
- 10–15+ years of senior banking leadership — President, COO, or equivalent at a regulated bank or financial institution
- Deep familiarity with bank operations, charter requirements, and regulatory examination processes
- Experience presenting to or working directly with OCC, Client, or FDIC is highly valued
- Proven ability to speak the language of banking regulators and inspire institutional trust
- Cross-border, international banking, or payments experience a strong plus
- Fintech or neobank experience welcome but not required — banking credentials are the baseline
- COO profiles are welcome if they can serve a CFO-adjacent function and run the full operational machine
Ideal Profile
The 'old mahogany desk' archetype — someone who has run a bank, built one, or been the right hand to the person who did. You know how to walk into a regulatory meeting and command the room. You understand that trust is the product. You're ready to build something new, but you're not pretending the rules don't apply.
