BAND DIRECTOR
REPORTS TO: Intermediate & Junior-Senior High School Administration
PAY TYPE: Contract, Non-Supervisory
PAY RATE: Based upon the WLCSC Master Teacher Contract (see attachment)
BENEFITS: Eligible (see attachment)
SCHEDULE: 183 Days; Follows school calendar

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate wind, brass, and percussion music instruction for intermediate (5-6) and junior-senior high school (7-12) students, in collaboration with fellow music educators
- Prepare students for performances and school events while fostering musical growth through a variety of instructional approaches and materials
- Maintain regular communication with students, families, and staff regarding classroom activities, student progress, and upcoming events and performances using appropriate platforms
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
- Education, Training, and Experience Required:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Valid Indiana Secondary Teacher's License in Fine Arts - Instrumental & General Music P-12 Education or pending licensure
- Displays excellent communication skills and professional demeanor
- Experience working in a school environment preferred
- Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Worker Characteristics:
- Displays positive and enthusiastic attitude
- Ability to work as a team with other staff
- Ability to work collaboratively with a dynamic and diverse educational community
- Experience with blended, project-based teaching methodologies and technology-based instruction
- Displays dependability and punctuality
- Preferred willingness to sponsor an extracurricular group/team
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Position works indoors in a typical school classroom environment
- May work near others, often within a few feet
- May occasionally be exposed to noise levels that are distracting
