Bancroft Nurse, Temporary

Department: Clinical/Nursing

Schedule: Temporary, Full-Time;  

Monday-Friday, 8:15 A.M. - 4:45 P.M.

Daily attendance will follow the Bancroft school calendar.

Compensation: $42.28/hr. 

Please note this is a temporary, full-time position within the Bancroft School at Voorhees Pediatric Facility. Candidate will be anticipated to work from July - December 2026

How our Nurses Serve our Children:
Voorhees Pediatric Facility provides a nurturing and home-like atmosphere filled with attentive and dedicated staff. All staff will work collaboratively to support residents with significant medical complexities and potential cognitive impairments. Under the direction and supervision of a registered professional nurse and certified school nurse, a Bancroft School nurse administers nursing care to designated patients as defined by the Department of Nursing policies and procedures, the Nurse Practice Act of the State of New Jersey, and as contained in this job description. Must be able to provide the care needed as described in the facility's policies and procedures.

Daily Tasks will include:

• Providing care for children, adolescents and young adults while they attend school in a classroom environment
• Administering medications safely and accurately
• Updating Plan of Care as necessary
• Coordinating the arrival and departure of students from Facility and community.
• Assuring emergency equipment is present and functioning properly.

Position Requirements:

• Current NJ RN Licensure 
• Active CPR Certification (only AHA or ARC are accepted; certification must include cognitive and skills training)
• Must be able to successfully obtain Criminal History clearance from Dept. of Education, Office of Student Protection.

Skills:

• One year of pediatric experience preferred, but will consider other specialties
• Tracheostoma and ventilator experience, preferred
• Ability demands of multiple residents with prompt attention and care.
• Effective communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent timekeeping skills
