Schedule: Flexible scheduling to meet department needs, including some weekends and holidays

About the Role

As part of our bakery team, you'll help prepare, bake, and present the breads, pastries, and baked goods our customers come in for. It's hands-on work in a busy department where freshness and presentation matter, and where good service keeps customers coming back. If you take pride in a well-stocked, great-looking case and enjoy working as part of a team, this is a solid place to do it.

A Note on the Work

This is an active, on-your-feet job. You'll be standing for most of your shift, using equipment like cutters and labelers, and lifting up to 30 lbs (with help available when you need it). Bakery work also starts the day fresh — early prep is part of the rhythm. The people who do best here don't mind staying busy and like seeing the results of their work in a clean, full display.

What You'll Do

• Assist with the baking process — measuring and mixing ingredients, then forming, cutting, shaping, and baking dough
• Wrap, pack, and label bakery items accurately for customers and the display case
• Keep products properly signed, merchandised, and rotated using First-In, First-Out (FIFO) so the case always looks fresh
• Unload and break down deliveries, stock and replenish products, and watch expiration dates so older items move first
• Greet customers, answer questions, introduce product samples, and handle requests quickly and accurately
• Follow all food-safety and cleaning procedures, and coordinate with the maintenance team to keep the department clean and safe
• Handle cash and complete the check-out process accurately when needed

Required

• Working knowledge of the baking process
• Ability to follow instructions and procedures
• Good customer service, time management, and teamwork skills
• Able to stand for extended periods, lift up to 30 lbs with appropriate equipment, and use bakery equipment such as cutters and labelers
• Available for flexible scheduling to meet department needs

Preferred

• Previous experience in a bakery or customer-service role
• Bilingual (English plus another language, such as Mandarin) is a plus but not required
