The Opportunity
Street Cart Bagels is seeking a skilled, dependable Baker to assist in daily bagel production and uphold the quality and consistency that define our brand.
This is a technical bakery position focused on production efficiency, precision, and product integrity. The Baker will work with a boiling kettle, and deck ovens to produce NYC-style bagels and related baked goods.
This role includes oversight of boiling, baking, and daily production schedules.
As Street Cart Bagels continues to grow, this position offers opportunities for expanded leadership, additional hours for catering and specialty production, and growth within our culinary operations.
What You ll Do
- Oversee daily bagel production from start to finish
- Operate and maintain bakery equipment including divider/former, kettle, and ovens
- Manage dough mixing, fermentation, proofing, boiling, and baking processes to ensure product quality
- Coordinate and support bakery staff to meet daily production targets
- Maintain product consistency, temperature logs, and bakery cleanliness standards
- Collaborate with prep and front-of-house teams for smooth service transitions
- Assist with catering and specialty order production as needed
- Participate in cross-training and development across other areas of the shop
What We re Looking For
- Prior experience in a bakery or commercial kitchen required (lead or supervisory experience preferred)
- Strong understanding of dough fermentation, production timing, and baking equipment operation
- Excellent time management, communication, and leadership skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Reliability for early-morning start times is essential (12:00am shifts)
- Weekend and holiday availability preferred
- Additional availability welcomed as business and catering operations expand
