About the Opportunity

Support a well-established, highly regarded surgical practice serving Orange County for over 30 years. This team of skilled general, vascular, and trauma surgeons has performed tens of thousands of surgeries and holds surgical privileges at some of the area's top hospitals and outpatient surgical centers.

As a Back Office Medical Assistant, you'll work directly alongside physicians and clinical staff, playing a hands-on role in patient care from the moment they step into the exam room. This is a great opportunity for an MA who enjoys variety, clinical exposure, and being an essential part of a busy, collaborative surgical practice.

What You'll Do

  • Escort patients to exam rooms and take vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, weight, height)
  • Obtain and document patient medical history, chief complaint, and allergies in the EHR
  • Assist physicians and providers with minor surgical procedures and examinations
  • Administer injections, perform EKGs, wound care, and other clinical duties as directed
  • Perform point-of-care testing (urinalysis, glucose, pregnancy tests, etc.) and collect lab specimens
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the EHR
  • Ensure proper instrument sterilization and uphold infection control standards
  • Manage patient follow-up, including returning calls, relaying test results per provider instruction, and coordinating referrals or authorizations
  • Monitor and maintain clinical supply inventory, ordering as needed
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and all applicable healthcare regulations

What We're Looking For

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program
  • CMA, RMA, or equivalent certification preferred
  • 1+ year of clinical back office experience preferred
  • Proficient in EHR systems
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-provider clinical environment

Why You'll Love It Here

  • Be part of a respected, long-standing surgical practice with deep roots in the Orange County medical community
  • Gain hands-on clinical experience across a variety of procedures and specialties
  • Temp-to-hire path with a consistent, stable Monday - Friday schedule
