Job Purpose:

  • The Emergency Evaluation (BA) primarily provides assessments and intervention services for individuals experiencing behavioral health crises and/or seeking substance abuse detoxification services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of individuals in crisis to evaluate their mental health status and immediate needs.
  • Determine the appropriate level of care and intervention required for stabilization and safety.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement crisis intervention plans.
  • Provide crisis counseling and support to individuals and their families.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
  • Coordinate with external agencies and resources to facilitate access to additional services and support.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with best practices in crisis intervention and mental health care.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal and ethical standards in the provision of emergency mental health services.

Required Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in human services or related field required
  • A minimum of 2-year behavioral healthcare experience required

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to effectively assess and evaluate emergency situations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure and make quick, informed decisions.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health record systems and other relevant software applications.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations related to behavioral health services and crisis intervention.
