Integrated Therapy Unit (ITU) – The Integrated Therapy Unit (ITU) at Children's Health Plano is a specialized pediatric inpatient rehabilitation and transitional care unit that provides multidisciplinary care for children with neuro-rehabilitation needs, pulmonary disorders, and feeding disorders. The unit cares for patients requiring complex medical management, including ventilator and tracheostomy support, intensive rehabilitation services, and feeding therapy. Care is delivered through a collaborative team that includes physicians, nurses, therapists, respiratory therapists, dietitians, child life specialists, and social workers, with a strong focus on family education and successful transition to home. Typical patient stays range from one to four weeks depending on clinical needs and rehabilitation goals.

BC/BE: PA or Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner
• Experience needed: history of PICU and/or respiratory preferred or at minimum working with hospitalist (inpatient) medicine Certification: BLS, PALS Pulmonary only: is a specialized floor that cares for chronic pulmonary patients. Many of these patients use ventilators and are expected to continue ventilator support at home, including non-invasive BiPAP therapy and trach/vent management.
• Schedule: 24/7 (nights, days, weekends, holidays)
• Night requirements/expectations will be a part of the role and will depend on number of shifts they can commit to; we have a big need for night support
• Shift time: day--0700-1900, night--1900-0700
• Minimum shift per month for consideration: 4 would be the least, but 6 would be preferred

Shifts times:7a -8p & 7p-8a ( While it is not a fully night-shift role, it will involve a significant amount of night coverage.)

Number of shifts needed per month: 3 FTE's Length of need: ongoing until perm is hired Common procedures: There are no procedures involved, and the unit follows a basic floor-care model. There is no outpatient expectations for this role.
