Position Summary
The Operations & School Culture Specialist is a critical role responsible for supporting
both the efficient operation of the school and the development of a safe, structured, and
positive student culture.
This position supports day-to-day operational systems while helping implement
school-wide behavior systems that promote strong character, accountability, and
student success. The Specialist works closely with staff, students, families, community
partners, vendors, and the authorized district to ensure alignment with AXL Academy's
mission and values.
This role requires a high level of flexibility, visibility, and responsiveness, with a
commitment to both operational excellence and student-centered culture.
Key Responsibilities
1. School Culture & Behavior Support
Support implementation of the school-wide behavior management system
Reinforce consistency in expectations, routines, and consequences across all
grade levels
Promote a positive, structured, and inclusive school culture
Maintain a strong, visible presence throughout the school (hallways, classrooms,
arrival/dismissal)
2. Student Support & Safety
Respond to behavioral incidents and assist with de-escalation efforts
Support development and implementation of behavior intervention plans (BIPs)
Serve as a first responder for safety and crisis situations
Support implementation of school safety protocols and procedures
3. Staff & Family Support
Support staff with classroom management and behavior strategies
Provide guidance or resources related to behavior systems and restorative
practices
Communicate with families regarding student behavior and progress
Help build strong partnerships with families and community members
4. Operations & Organizational Support
Support implementation and maintenance of school-wide operational systems
Assist the Executive Director with operational planning and execution
Help ensure continuity of services by addressing operational gaps
Support facilities, transportation, safety, and daily logistics
5. Finance, Grants & Compliance (Support Role)
Support financial operations and budgeting processes as directed
Assist with grant writing, reporting, and compliance
Support RFP processes and vendor coordination
Help maintain compliance with district, state, and authorizer requirements
6. Contracts, Vendors & Systems Support
Support vendor relationships, contracts, and service coordination
Assist with technology systems, IT coordination, and procurement
Support internet systems, Google Workspace, and basic staff tech needs
Assist with construction or capital projects as needed
7. Communication & School Coordination
Support internal and external communication systems
Assist with website updates, branding, and marketing
Support Board-related logistics and communication as assigned
Assist with communication with the authorized district
8. Enrollment, Events & Community Engagement
Support enrollment processes, documentation, and compliance
Assist with school events, clubs, and extracurricular programs
Support family engagement initiatives and communication
9. Data, Documentation & Continuous Improvement
Track and support analysis of behavior and operational data
Maintain accurate records of incidents, compliance, and reporting
Use data to support improvement of systems and student outcomes
10. Flexibility & Additional Duties (Essential)
Support multiple operational areas as school needs evolve
May assist with transportation or other school operations as needed
Perform additional duties to ensure a safe, effective, and student-centered
environment
This role requires adaptability and does not qualify for additional compensation
for shifting responsibilities

Qualifications
Experience in school operations, behavior support, or related field required
Demonstrated ability to support student behavior or school culture
Experience working in K–12 school settings strongly preferred
Knowledge of restorative practices and trauma-informed approaches preferred
Bilingual (Spanish preferred, not required)
