Job Title: AWS Cloud Solutions Architect / Cloud Engineer

Location: New York, NY (Hybrid – 3 Days Onsite / 2 Days Remote)
Duration: 12 Months

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Solutions Architect / Cloud Engineer to lead the design, governance, and implementation of enterprise cloud solutions. This role focuses on developing scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud architectures while establishing cloud standards, governance, and best practices. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in AWS, working knowledge of Azure, and experience designing hybrid cloud environments, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), cloud security, automation, and enterprise cloud migrations.

Key Responsibilities

Cloud Architecture & Strategy

  • Design scalable, resilient, secure, and cost-optimized cloud architectures aligned with business objectives.
  • Develop enterprise cloud frameworks, governance models, standards, and architectural best practices.
  • Assess existing applications and infrastructure for cloud readiness and migration planning.
  • Create cloud migration strategies, implementation roadmaps, and architecture documentation.
  • Produce technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and implementation playbooks using Microsoft Visio or equivalent tools.

AWS & Azure Cloud Solutions

  • Design and support enterprise solutions across AWS and Azure cloud platforms.
  • Manage multi-account AWS Organizations and multi-subscription Azure environments.
  • Support hybrid cloud and multi-cloud architectures integrating on-premises infrastructure.
  • Provide technical guidance and architectural oversight to cloud engineering teams.
  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to develop cloud solutions that meet organizational requirements.

Infrastructure as Code & Automation

  • Design and implement Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions using:
    • Terraform
    • AWS CloudFormation
    • Azure ARM Templates
    • Pulumi
  • Develop and support CI/CD pipelines using:
    • GitHub Actions
    • GitLab CI/CD
    • Jenkins
    • AWS CodePipeline
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.

Cloud Security & Governance

  • Implement cloud security best practices across AWS and Azure environments.
  • Configure IAM, RBAC, security groups, network security controls, identity management, encryption, and monitoring solutions.
  • Implement governance frameworks aligned with industry standards including CIS, NIST, and ISO 27001.
  • Support cloud security monitoring using SIEM platforms and cloud-native security services.
  • Assist with disaster recovery, backup strategies, and compliance initiatives.

Performance Optimization & Cost Management

  • Optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
  • Monitor cloud environments using AWS and Azure monitoring tools.
  • Implement auto-scaling, load balancing, caching, and performance optimization strategies.
  • Utilize cloud cost management tools and FinOps practices to optimize cloud spending.

Networking & Hybrid Connectivity

  • Design and implement secure cloud networking architectures including:
    • Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs)
    • Virtual Networks (VNets)
    • Hub-and-Spoke Architectures
    • Transit Gateway
    • Peering
    • VPN
    • Direct Connect
    • ExpressRoute
  • Configure CDN and global traffic management solutions for high availability and low latency.

Collaboration & Support

  • Troubleshoot cloud infrastructure, networking, and platform-related issues.
  • Collaborate with Network, Infrastructure, DevOps, Security, Finance, and Procurement teams.
  • Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Participate in cloud strategy discussions and architecture reviews.

Required Qualifications

  • 6–10 years of hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Strong experience designing enterprise cloud architectures and governance frameworks.
  • Proficiency with AWS and Microsoft Azure cloud platforms.
  • Experience with hybrid cloud and multi-cloud environments.
  • Strong understanding of on-premises infrastructure and cloud integration.
  • Experience managing AWS Organizations and Azure subscriptions.
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM Templates, or Pulumi).
  • Experience developing CI/CD pipelines and cloud automation solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud networking, security, disaster recovery, and performance optimization.
  • Experience with containerization technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional(strongly preferred).
  • Microsoft Azure Certification.
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
  • Experience implementing FinOps best practices.
  • Experience with SIEM platforms such as Splunk or Chronicle.
  • Experience with enterprise cloud migrations and modernization initiatives.
