Responsibilities include oversight of planning, development, and delivery of training programs, and optimizing use of assessment and training technologies such as the fire trainer and full mission bridge simulator. Provides input to administration regarding the current and future funding, space, and equipment needs for the AMTC; monitor budget expenditures monthly. \n Outreach to various primary, secondary, and post-secondary educational institutions, as well as Alaskan and national maritime industry representatives to expand AVTEC's presence in the industry, and recruit new students.\n Development and management of course schedules and all space and equipment necessary for annual training schedule, simulator use, and training as demand warrants to ensure efficient staffing and use of training resources and instructional technologies.\n Management of contract training arrangements, ensuring the contract training is cohesive with scheduled programs, and facilitating use of classroom/conference room space, catering, accommodations, etc.\n Evaluating performance and apply coaching for performance improvement and enforce disciplinary action as warranted.\n Maintaining maritime advisory committee composed of at least two of the three members external to the institution.\n Record keeping of National Maritime Center Course approvals, audits, and course renewal timelines. \n \nNot required, but preferred: Experience with developing, drafting, editing, or submitting updates on United States Coast Guard training courses.\n \nDRIVER'S LICENSE REQUIREMENT\n \nApplicants must possess a valid driver's license.
