Job Summary and Qualifications

The AVP, Account Services leads the creative services’ account services team and serves as a strategic partner connecting many facets of the organization to the creative and marketing services teams with a goal of supporting and contributing to the development and implementation of strategic marketing solutions for corporate stakeholders that leverage HCA Healthcare’s brand and the marketing and corporate affairs’ (MCA) portfolio of strategic work.

Accountable for how the organization engages stakeholders and influences broader marketing and brand direction, this role is a strategic business leader and thought partner. They will focus on operational excellence by mentoring staff, building and maintaining strong client partnerships, owning overall client satisfaction, acting as the escalation point for complex client issues and directing the account team’s success and strategy to drive long- term account health and fulfillment.

Client Management and Growth:

  • Cultivate key client accounts and senior-level relationships and ensure partners adopt account strategies and processes
  • Act as the primary escalation point for critical client issues, ensuring efficient and effective resolution
  • Identify opportunities for expansion of strategic scope, deeper integration with business priorities and operational improvement and efficiency to drive increased enterprise value
  • Serve as the client's internal advocate

Strategy and Leadership:

  • Focus on big picture thinking, overall success of the account department and long-term planning of the account function
  • Set vision, structure, and performance standards for the account services team
  • Challenge stakeholder thinking and shape leadership decisions when advising on brand and marketing direction
  • Develop and implement overarching client relationship and retention strategies
  • Contribute to strategic planning partnership and organizational impact beyond the creative services team
  • Lead, mentor and develop account services team, handling recruitment, onboarding and training
  • Ensure internal teams align with client needs for long-term success
  • Advocate for the impact of creative and digital solutions and the prioritization of initiatives that serve customers and drive business and marketing objectives
  • Owns client strategy, portfolio growth and expansion of strategic scope and adoption

Internal Collaboration and Operations:

  • Collaborate with marketing, communications, brand and creative services peer teams and other departments to meet client needs and drive objectives forward
  • Maintain knowledge of full portfolio of work, project scope and resource allocation
  • Set and monitor key portfolio metrics (satisfaction, retention, response times) to guide strategy
  • In collaboration with account team, generate status reports for clients and senior leadership on KPIs and account performance
  • Keep leadership informed of full project portfolio
  • Own portfolio and resource capacity

Account Services Team

The account services team serves as point of contact for certain enterprise strategic projects and is a vital conduit between these areas and project stakeholders. They challenge thinking and shape decisions, while influencing broader marketing and brand direction and offer thoughtful and innovative solutions based on analysis of marketing objectives and strategies. The team develops creative and digital briefs, crafts proposals that define capabilities, scope and resources and ensures projects are completed on time and on goal. They have an open line of communication with corporate leadership and are responsible for keeping corporate client teams organized and informed of strategic projects under their purview, along with the team’s roles and responsibilities for such projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10+ years’ experience in a strategic account or project role for a creative or marketing department in a corporation or agency
  • 5+ years of management and mentoring experience
  • Experience with large, matrixed organizations, enterprise stakeholders and complex portfolios
  • Project management platform experience
  • Comfortably partner and communicate with executive leadership, peers, and team members to easily build and cultivate relationships
  • Manage ambiguity and change with patience and grace
  • Are an expansive and critical thinker with proven problem-solving skills
  • Effectively manage multiple projects and tasks of varying complexity and urgency
  • Meet deadlines and work well under pressure
