TITLE: SCIENCE TEACHER

QUALIFICATIONS:
Valid State Teacher Certification Granted by the Professional Teaching Standards Board.
Bachelor's Degree with preferred endorsements in Integrated Science (DI) or Science (DX), or DA and DC endorsements
Evidence of ability to establish working relationships that result in mutual respect.
Ability to speak clearly and concisely both in oral and written communication.
Strong interpersonal and public relations skills.
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
JOB GOAL: The primary purpose of this position is to motivate each pupil to acquire knowledge of scientific facts and principles, and skills in scientific methods of problem solving; to discover and develop special talents of pupils in scientific fields.
TEACHING PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works cooperatively with administrators, student services personnel and teachers, to ensure the delivery of curriculum
Assist students with selection of appropriate science courses.
Provides individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil, to the extent feasible.
Maintains control of storage and use of school-owned property.
Maintains professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the district, and/or in self-selected professional growth activities.
Communicates with parents and school counselors on pupil progress.
Participates in curriculum and other developmental programs.
Other duties as assigned by the principal.
