Avionics Technician
Location: Kent, WA 98032

Schedule: Monday Thursday, 5am to 3:30pm
Summary:
As part of a hardworking team of technicians, you will assemble, repair, and evaluate electrical and mechanical assemblies for various spaceflight systems. You will share in the team s impact on all aspects of the production, evaluation, and development of Flight-grade Avionics. Working in the Avionics Hardware Lab requires a high level of technical proficiency in work such as soldering, component-level board work, mechanical assembly, and assembly wiring.
Responsibilities:
- Building different components and assemblies for all groups across the Company in all different environments (development, test and flight).
- Assisting with assembly of new and updated designs by working directly with engineering to determine best practices for assembly.
- Give regular input on manufacturing improvement opportunities or build changes leading to more efficient assembly.
- Serve both internal and external customers across multiple systems and multiple platforms; each Technician is a valued part of the chain that supports safe human spaceflight.
- A focus on safety, collaborative teamwork, and quality allows us to work together to determine the best path forward, balancing speed and safety to create high-quality components that will propel future astronauts and payloads into space for the improvement of mankind.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED
- 3+ years of experience in Aerospace Avionics or related highly detailed assembly
- Familiarity working in an ESD EPA and with tool control/accountability processes.
- Experience using standard electronics assembly tools, hand soldering and basic electronic test equipment (multimeters and power supplies).
- Experience with applying torque to fasteners/components.
- Experience with fabricating, terminating, and repair/testing of wire harnesses.
- Experience inspecting and certifying work performed to relevant standards and specifications.
- Experience with application and removal of polymerics (staking, potting, encapsulation, and conformal coating)
- Ability to lift 50lbs. Ability to work 40-hour work week (4X10s) with occasional overtime to support business needs.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to meet production and attendance expectations
Desired:
- 5-7 years of experience in launch vehicle or propulsion system assembly fabrication, CCA or PCBA repair, or component replacement
- Experience with energized power/high voltage systems, battery systems or RF assemblies.
- Certification in and/or knowledge of IPC standards for assembly and inspection.
- J-STD/J-STD Space, 610, 7711/7721 Rework and 620/620 Space Addendum.
- Experience and capability to interface with Microsoft Office Suite, electronic work orders and configuration management systems.
- Experience with documenting non-conformances and carrying out dispositioned repairs
