Job Title: Avionics Technician - II
Location: Kent, WA
Type: Contract
Compensation: $47 per hour
Hours: Monday-Thursday 5:00 am to 3:30 pm

Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on support to Engineering, Production, and Manufacturing teams by performing activities such as testing, check-out, modification, fabrication, and assembly of electro/mechanical systems.
  • Work with electronic circuits, power distribution, life/vehicle critical safety systems, and battery systems, following schematics, diagrams, and plans to perform troubleshooting and operational testing.
  • Assist in fault isolation and determine methods to remedy malfunctions, supporting both laboratory and manufacturing environments.
  • Build components and assemblies across various environments including development, testing, and flight.
  • Collaborate with engineering to assemble new and updated designs, providing input on manufacturing improvements and build changes.
  • Support internal and external customers across multiple systems and platforms, contributing to safe human spaceflight initiatives.
  • Apply torque to fasteners and components, ensuring proper assembly and safety standards.
  • Fabricate, terminate, and test wire harnesses, ensuring quality and reliability.
  • Perform inspection and certification of work according to relevant standards and specifications.
  • Handle mechanical assembly tasks, including working with threaded inserts, staking, potting, encapsulation, and conformal coating.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs and work a 40-hour week with occasional overtime to support launch schedules.
Requirements
  • 3 or more years of experience in Aerospace Avionics or related fields.
  • Experience with electronic testing equipment and mechanical/dimensional measurement tools.
  • Knowledge of assembly standards, including staking, potting, encapsulation, and conformal coating.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and a passion for space exploration.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful resident (Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and work a 40-hour week (4x10s) with occasional overtime.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to maintain positive, professional relationships and contribute to an inclusive culture.
