Every aircraft that leaves the shop reflects the standard you hold.Key Responsibilities Execute complete avionics installations from initial planning through final sign-off on a broad range of general aviation aircraftPerform 24-month IFR/VFR inspections and scheduled maintenance within established timeframe estimatesInterface with aircraft computer systems to carry out software updates and critical database upgradesFollow OEM installation manuals and Repair Station procedures to maintain full FAA compliance on every work orderAssess damaged components against manufacturer manuals and service bulletins to determine the most appropriate repair or replacement course of actionKeep accurate work logs and submit daily End-of-Day (EOD) reports to the management teamMinimum Requirements Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience as an avionics technician in a general aviation environmentTechnical proficiency with avionics platforms including Garmin, L3, Avidyne, and AspenStrong working knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and OEM technical documentationMust own personal tools and a personal toolboxHigh school diploma or GEDPhysically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and sustaining bending, stooping, kneeling, and extended standing; comfortable working in environments with noise levels exceeding 85 dB (safety equipment provided)Professional references required and will be verified prior to placementIdeal Qualifications Airframe or A&P license — a meaningful differentiator, though not requiredPractical aircraft-specific experience with Cessna, Piper, Beech, and Cirrus platforms across both piston and turbine variantsGeneral aircraft maintenance background beyond avionicsElevate Your CareerApply for this Avionics Technician position and let Rio Staffing represent you to our network of leading aviation and aerospace clients.
