Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Avionics Systems Engineer who will play a crucial role in system designs, aircraft modifications, and supporting technical documentation. This role involves working on high-level defense programs in the aerospace industry.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain technical requirements documents, system schematics, and descriptions.
• Create and manage supplier requirements and interface control documents (ICDs).
• Design wiring diagrams and certification plans in accordance with FAA, TCCA, and EASA standards.
• Prepare issue papers and compliance reports.
• Develop functional and qualification test plans and reports.
• Conduct aircraft-level test plans and reports.
• Perform and support requirements management, including validation and verification activities.
• Review installation drawings and qualification test data.
• Analyze ground and flight test data to verify system performance.
• Support change management activities, including concept development, trade studies, and impact analysis.
• Participate in internal and external design reviews and program governance activities.
• Support supplier management and technical subcontract oversight.
• Ensure compliance with 14 CFR Part 25, FAA, TCCA, and EASA certification requirements.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in systems schematics, test plans, and test reports.
• Experience with avionics systems for at least 24 months.
• Ability to manage system engineering aspects of multiple programs of varying complexities.
• Experience with FAA, TCCA, and EASA Part 25 certification standards.
• U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency required for ITAR compliance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of systems engineering (or related) experience.
• Familiarity with ARP4754A (civil aircraft and systems development).
• Knowledge of system safety processes.
• Experience with industry standards such as RTCA DO-160 and DO-178.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
• Experience with AutoCAD is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to build effective relationships with cross-functional teams and suppliers.
• Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Wichita, KS.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $85.00 - $105.00/hr.
