Amazon is looking for a security professional to join our Aviation Security Control Center (ASCC) in Erlanger, KY, with a foundation in security operations, intelligence analysis, or investigations. You"ll work at Amazon Air"s Network Control Center (NCC), reporting to the ASCC Manager.

The ideal candidate will have experience in security operations, intelligence analysis, incident response, or investigations. You"ll lead real-time incident coordination during security events across Amazon Air, Prime Air drone operations, and Amazon Air Cargo. You"ll review security and safety incidents and escalate when needed based on your expertise and judgment, produce flash warnings and situation reports, investigate workplace violence incidents, and monitor emerging threats, applying risk management best practices to mitigate security risks and resolve critical issues that directly impact directly impact the safety of Amazon"s global aviation network.

You will independently identify risks, drive resolution of problems, and own process improvements to meet the ASCC"s risk strategy and operational objectives. This position requires shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays. You must make sound judgments under pressure, handle sensitive information with discretion, and work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

If you"re ready to contribute to safeguarding Amazon"s expanding aviation network, we want to hear from you.

Key job responsibilities

You will be part of the ASCC team providing 24/7 security coverage for Amazon"s global aviation operations. You will own the execution and delivery of security incident response and intelligence analysis projects aligned with the ASCC"s defined risk strategy. In this role, you must:

  • Coordinate security incident response and provide information to field teams during crisis situations while applying risk management methodologies to mitigate security risks
  • Identify threats and deliver flash warnings and situation reports to support decision-makers
  • Work independently during your shift while collaborating with the broader ASCC team
  • Handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism, promoting a culture of compliance to security policies and regulations
  • Make sound judgments under pressure in fast-paced situations, distinguishing between important and urgent matters
  • Work 10-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays

You will also:

  • Gather and analyze threat-related intelligence from multiple open-source and proprietary platforms
  • Assess the credibility of incoming information and escalate appropriately
  • Identify emerging security risks and recommend mitigation strategies based on established risk management best practices
  • Prepare security incident reports and maintain accurate, secure records
  • Support ongoing investigations by connecting new intelligence with existing cases
  • Conduct vendor and customer vetting using intelligence platforms to assess risk
  • Investigate workplace violence incidents and document findings for leadership review
  • Travel occasionally (less than 10% after initial training period)

The ideal candidate has proven experience in security operations, intelligence analysis, or investigations. You"ll work independently during your shifts, analyzing information and solving problems autonomously. At the same time, you must excel at collaboration, ensuring smooth shift handovers, supporting incident response teams, and communicating effectively with operational partners. The ability to balance independent work with strong teamwork is essential in this role.

Eligibility Qualifications:

Due to the sensitive nature of this role, you must:

  • Pass DHS, TSA and U.S. Customs and Border Protection security screenings
  • Qualify for unescorted Airport SIDA (Security Identification Display Area) access
  • Have no history of DOT drug/alcohol violations or test refusals
  • Pass pre-employment drug testing

This is a safety-sensitive position requiring sound judgment to protect Amazon Air personnel, contractors, and cargo. You may be subject to ongoing drug and alcohol testing as required by DOT regulations. You may need to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance for this role.

A day in the life

As an ASCC Specialist, you"re on the front lines of Amazon"s global aviation security operations. No two days are the same, but here"s what you can expect:

Your shift starts with intelligence gathering. You"ll scan open-source intelligence platforms for emerging threats; geopolitical unrest, airspace closures, civil unrest, severe weather, anything that could impact Amazon Air routes, cargo operations, or Prime Air drone sites across the globe.

Then the real-time work begins. A customer needs vetting for a high-value cargo shipment to Latin America; you'll apply your knowledge of risk assessment techniques, running them through our intelligence platforms, checking for sanctions, adverse media, and business risks, to evaluate and determine if the company should take on the shipment. A severe storm system is approaching a major hub; you"ll monitor conditions, assess operational impacts, and coordinate with flight operations teams. A workplace violence incident occurs at a gateway; you"ll conduct the investigation, document findings clearly, and prepare briefings for leadership.

Crisis response is where the stakes get high. When a security incident hits, a suspicious item flagged during security screening, a facility alarm, a geopolitical event affecting flight routes; you"re part of the coordinated response. You"ll lead Mitigation Calls and Incident Rooms, tracking action items, documenting decisions, and keeping stakeholders informed with real-time situation reports. Your analysis will inform go/no-go recommendations on flight routes.

Between incidents, you"re supporting strategic initiatives. You"ll contribute to risk assessments and security evaluations. You"ll develop standard operating procedures that will be used across the network. You"ll analyze trends from past incidents to identify systemic issues and recommend improvements to global processes and procedures.

Collaboration is constant. You"ll coordinate with our Amazon Air Network Control Center on operational responses. You"ll communicate with site operational leaders and field personnel regarding security matters. You"ll partner with international teams to support cargo expansion into new countries. You"ll provide field security teams with intelligence products and operational guidance.

This role demands sharp analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to shift seamlessly between tactical incident response and supporting strategic security planning. If you want a security role where your work directly impacts global operations every single day, this is it.

About the team

The Aviation Security Control Center (ASCC) is Amazon"s 24/7 intelligence and operations hub protecting one of the world"s fastest-growing air cargo networks and next-generation drone delivery operations, expanding rapidly into new markets across North America, Latin America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific.

As part of Amazon"s Aviation Security (AvSec) organization, we"re the first line of defense against threats to our aviation operations. Our team of security professionals work around the clock conducting intelligence analysis, managing crisis response, and executing security operations:

  • Assess real-time threats to flight routes, cargo shipments, airport operations, and drone delivery sites across the globe
  • Coordinate crisis response for security incidents affecting Amazon Air, Prime Air drone operations, and Amazon Air Cargo
  • Investigate workplace violence incidents and security threats to aviation personnel and facilities, documenting findings and driving risk mitigation
  • Vet high-risk customers and vendors using advanced intelligence platforms, and make recommendations based on your expertise in risk management best practices
  • Monitor geopolitical events that could disrupt operations-from airspace closures to civil unrest
  • Enable rapid expansion by conducting threat assessments for new routes, airports, and Prime Air launch sites

We leverage innovative technology: AI-powered screening, drone surveillance, automated vetting tools, to stay ahead of emerging threats while maintaining zero TSA/FAA enforcement actions across our network.

This isn"t a typical security role. You"ll collaborate across Amazon"s security organizations (GSOC, Corporate Security, Physical Security) and partner with external agencies including TSA, FAA, and international aviation authorities. Your analysis is critical to go/no-go decisions on flight routes. You"ll brief senior leaders during active incidents. And you"ll help shape the future of aviation security at Amazon scale.

If you thrive in high-stakes, fast-paced environments where your analysis directly impacts global operations, we want to hear from you.
