The role combines technical support, public relations and customer service skills to ensure vehicle operation and passenger safety.Key Responsibilities Perform basic computer troubleshooting and reboot self‑driving autonomous vehicles in service areas.Monitor multiple software systems and manage smartphone or laptop connections to issue commands to vehicle modules.Provide situational awareness and adapt to changing environmental conditions while operating a non‑autonomous vehicle.Recover and safely transport self‑driving vehicles to a designated location.Apply safety procedures during rescue operations and maintain safety standards inside and outside the vehicle.Communicate courteously with management, engineers, media and the public.Document daily reports, procedures and test results accurately.Educate passengers and the public on autonomous vehicle technology.Adhere to the division's zero‑tolerance policy for alcohol or drug use, including randomized testing.Education, Licensing and Certifications Required Minimum age 21 years.High School Diploma or GED (four‑year college degree preferred).Valid driving record meeting state AVT (Autonomous Vehicle Tester) or applicable regulations.Compliance with criminal history and other regulatory requirements in the state(s) of operation.Experience Required At least 1 year of professional experience troubleshooting devices, networks, software or vehicles.Minimum 3 years of driving experience on public roads; additional experience preferred.Proficiency with a laptop computer and G‑Suite applications (Gmail, Hangouts, Drive, Sheets, Docs).Proficiency with a touchscreen smartphone and ability to type at least 40 words per minute.Skills and Knowledge Required Strong attention to detail and concise communication of technical information.Ability to respond quickly to simultaneous scenarios and multitask across multiple technologies.Adaptability to new and evolving technology.Effective verbal and written communication with all stakeholders.Capacity to work varied shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, overnight and up to one month of travel.Self‑motivation, good judgment, and proficiency in high‑stress environments.Pre‑Employment Requirements Submission to a drug test and background check.Verification of driving record.Physical Requirements Occasional standing, walking and sitting; extended periods of sitting.Use of hands and arms to handle, reach, climb stairs or ladders.Capability to lift or move up to 45 pounds occasionally.Visual acuity sufficient for close, distance, peripheral and depth perception; ability to adjust focus.Work conducted outdoors in a vehicle.Equal Opportunity Employment TaskUs is an equal‑opportunity workplace and a federal affirmative action employer.
