    Group 1 Automotive is hosting an on-the-spot hiring event for experienced Automotive Technicians across our 19 Houston metro dealership locations! On-the-spot interviews with the possibility of same-day offers for the right fit.

    What to bring: A copy of your resume and any ASE or manufacturer certifications you hold.

    What to expect: Meet directly with hiring managers from multiple Houston-area stores, learn about open Flag/Flat-Rate Technician roles, and interview on the spot. No need to wait on a callback, we''re ready to talk with you the day of!

    Interviews run all day from 11am to 7:30pm, so stop by whenever works for your schedule.

    Responsibilities

    • Perform high-quality repairs efficiently and accurately, following dealership and factory standards
    • Conduct comprehensive diagnostics, troubleshooting, and testing on automotive systems
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
    • Road-test vehicles to verify successful repairs
    • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures
    • Provide timely updates to service advisors on repair status and estimated completion times for customer communication.
    • Participate in ongoing training to stay current with evolving automotive technology
    • Uphold company values in all interactions with customers, coworkers, and vendors

    Qualifications

    • Minimum 2 years of automotive technician experience performing complex repairs and diagnostics, (dealership experience preferred)
    • National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification(s) in different specialized areas such as brakes, electrical/electronic systems or engine performance strongly preferred
    • Manufacturer certifications are a bonus!
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Valid driver license in the state that you will work and a good driving record
    • Excellent customer service skills
    • Professional appearance and work ethic
    • Must pass background check, MVR, and drug screening
