About the Opportunity
We are seeking experienced A-Level and B+ Automotive Technicians to join a respected, family-owned full-service automotive repair and tire shop in Newton, New Jersey. Key Responsibilities
A-Level Technician
- Perform advanced diagnostics on engine, electrical, drivability, steering, suspension, braking, HVAC, and transmission systems
- Diagnose complex electrical concerns using oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, OBD-II scanners, and manufacturer-level diagnostic equipment
- Complete repairs from initial diagnosis through final quality control and road testing
- Perform wheel alignments using Hunter alignment equipment
- Complete tire service, brake repairs, steering and suspension repairs, and general automotive repairs
- Utilize ALLDATA, ShopKey, Identifix, Autel, and Snap-on diagnostic equipment
- Accurately document repairs and communicate findings with the service team
- Participate in ongoing technical training and professional development
B+ Level Technician
- Perform heavy mechanical repair and replacement (R&R) work
- Complete steering, suspension, and brake repairs
- Perform wheel alignments and tire services
- Complete maintenance services and general automotive repairs
- Assist with shop workflow while maintaining quality workmanship
- Collaborate with service advisors and technicians to maximize productivity
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Qualifications
A-Level Technician
- Five or more years of professional automotive repair experience preferred
- Strong automotive and electrical diagnostic experience
- Experience using oscilloscopes and advanced diagnostic equipment
- Ability to independently complete repairs from diagnosis through final road test
- Experience servicing engine, transmission, steering, suspension, braking, and electrical systems
- Experience performing wheel alignments and tire service
- ASE Certifications preferred but not required
- Dealership and independent repair experience is a plus
B+ Level Technician
- Approximately three to five or more years of professional automotive repair experience
- Strong heavy mechanical repair experience
- Ability to complete repairs efficiently with minimal supervision
- Experience performing wheel alignments, steering and suspension repairs, tire service, and general maintenance
- ASE Certifications preferred but not required

Compensation & Benefits

- $32-$46 per hour based on experience and skills

- Annual earning potential of $52,000-$91,000
