5+ Years of GAS VEHICLE Experience Required

Promotive is hiring an experienced A Level or Solid B+ Level Automotive Technician (GAS Vehicles, NOT Diesel) for a highly respected family-owned independent repair facility in Carthage, NY. This is an outstanding opportunity for a technician who enjoys solving complex automotive problems, performing diagnostics, and working on a wide variety of vehicles in a modern, well-equipped shop. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced automotive diagnostics, electrical diagnostics, and drivability troubleshooting.
  • Diagnose and repair engine, transmission, steering, suspension, brake, HVAC, and electrical systems.
  • Complete engine and transmission removals and replacements (R&R), timing jobs, cylinder head repairs, and other major mechanical repairs.
  • Perform wheel alignments, brake repairs, suspension repairs, and preventive maintenance services.
  • Utilize advanced diagnostic equipment and scan tools to accurately identify vehicle concerns.
  • Complete Digital Vehicle Inspections (DVIs) using AutoVitals and document repairs thoroughly.
  • Work efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship and achieving productivity goals.
  • Collaborate with the service team to provide exceptional customer service and accurate repair recommendations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of professional automotive shop repair experience. GAS Vehicles (NOT Diesel)
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills required.
  • Experience with automotive electrical systems, engine performance, steering, suspension, brakes, and transmission repairs.
  • Diesel experience is a plus but not required.
  • Experience using OBD-II diagnostic scanners and modern diagnostic equipment.
  • ASE Certifications are preferred but not required.
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and committed to producing high-quality work.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • All employment offers are conditional upon the successful completion of post-interview compliance and credential verifications.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Hourly pay:
    • A-Level Technician: $40-$50/hour (Depending on Experience / Skills)
    • B-Level Technician: $35-$40/hour  (Depending on Experience / Skills)
