A Level / Master Automotive Technician OR STRONG B Level Tech
Location: York, PA
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay Range: $25–$45/hr (Hourly)
Earning Potential: $100K+ for Master / L1 Technicians
Pay Schedule: Weekly
Position Summary
Promotive is hiring an experienced Automotive Technician for a well-established, family-oriented repair shop in York, PA. This shop is specifically looking for either a Master / A Level Technician or a STRONG B Level Tech with solid diagnostic experience who can confidently handle the majority of repairs without immediately reaching for the “parts cannon.”
If you can diagnose drivability issues, chase down electrical gremlins, and still crack a joke before lunch, you’ll fit right in here. This is a clean, professional, drama-free shop where the team works hard, helps each other out, and actually likes coming to work on Monday mornings. (We know… rare.)
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair domestic, Asian, and European vehicles
- Troubleshoot drivability, electrical, suspension, brake, steering, and engine performance concerns
- Complete maintenance and repair work efficiently and accurately
- Use scan tools, diagnostic equipment, and digital vehicle inspection software
- Communicate findings clearly with service advisors and teammates
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Support fellow technicians and contribute to a positive team culture
- Stay current with evolving automotive technology and repair procedures through ongoing training
Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of professional automotive repair experience preferred
- Strong B Level Technician OR A Level / Master Technician experience required
- Diagnostic and troubleshooting experience required
- Ability to independently complete the majority of repairs
- ASE Certifications highly preferred (we’ll reimburse you for them)
- L1 Advanced Engine Performance Certification is a huge plus
- Pennsylvania State Inspection and Emissions License preferred or willingness to obtain
- Experience using scan tools and diagnostic software
- Positive attitude and team-player mentality
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening
- Ability to laugh occasionally when the check engine light comes back for something completely unrelated
Compensation & Benefits
- Straight hourly pay structure — no games, no mystery math
- A-Level / Master Techs: $40–$45+/hr
- Strong B-Level Techs: $25–$35/hr
