Automotive Parts Delivery Driver

Job Description

The Automotive Parts Delivery Driver drives company vehicles to pick up and deliver parts in the local area. He/she transports products from local parts sources and delivers them to our dealership. Most importantly and without exception, the Delivery Driver operates within the legal speed limits and in a safe fashion at all times. This position requires a strong understanding of our inventory and the ability to follow detailed instructions to ensure delivery accuracy. Their work is multifaceted, as they are needed to deliver auto parts to customers and pick up the orders that they provide. The driver pulls the order out of inventory and handles returns. The diver will also be responsible for maintaining a positive relationship with customers, providing them with exceptional service during each interaction. The Parts Driver contributes to the overall operational efficiency of the business. Ultimately, this role is essential in supporting our sales and service teams, ensuring they have the necessary parts to meet customer needs and maintain high satisfaction levels.

Eligible candidates will be required to pass a background/DMV/Drug screen. Full-time employees are eligible for medical, dental, and vision benefits on the first of the month following 60 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver aftermarket parts to customers and service departments promptly.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries and ensure proper documentation is completed.
• Communicate effectively with customers to provide updates on delivery status and address any inquiries.
• Assist in the organization and management of inventory in the parts department.
• Collaborate with sales and service teams to ensure that all parts needs are met efficiently.
• Obeys posted speed limits at all times and all other rules of the road.
• Monitors parts inventory and maintains the storage area in good condition.
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Experience driving and/or with automotive parts and accessories preferred
• Unrestricted driver's license and clean driving record
• Able to drive both automatic and standard-transmission vehicles
• Able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed
• Basic mechanical skills to perform minor vehicle maintenance
• Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress
• Highly professional and dependable
• Safety and customer service oriented
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Helpful attitude and friendly demeanor
• Reynolds and Reynolds experience a plus

Skills:

The required skills for this position, such as understanding and following instructions, are essential for ensuring that deliveries are made accurately and efficiently. The ability to engage in one-stop sales and provide a wide array of financial services enhances the customer experience, allowing the Parts Driver to address various customer needs. Skills related to leasing and rentals will be utilized when discussing options with customers, ensuring they are informed about all available services. Additionally, knowledge of service and body shop capabilities will enable the Parts Driver to communicate effectively with the service team, ensuring that parts are delivered as needed. Overall, these skills contribute to a seamless operation that prioritizes customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
