We are seeking an experienced Automotive Embedded Software Engineer specializing in Basic Software (BSW) and Low-Level Driver (LLD) development for inverter and motor control systems. The successful candidate will design, develop, configure and validate AUTOSAR-compliant BSW components that form the software foundation for high-voltage traction inverters used in hybrid and battery-electric vehicles.

Working in close collaboration with application, system and hardware teams, you will own the microcontroller abstraction layer and hardware driver development lifecycle — from architecture through to integration, ensuring compliance with AUTOSAR Classic Platform standards using industry-standard toolchains including EB Tresos and ETAS tools.

Key Responsibilities

BSW Configuration & Integration

  • Configure and integrate AUTOSAR BSW modules using EB Tresos Studio, including OS, Com Stack, Memory Stack, and Diagnostic stack.
  • Set up and maintain BSW module configurations (ECUC parameters) for target microcontrollers (e.g., Infineon AURIX TriCore).
  • Integrate OEM- and Tier-1-supplied BSW packages; resolve inter-module compatibility issues.
  • MCAL Integration and configuration using EB for motor drivers

Low-Level Driver Development

  • Area: Develop and maintain MCAL drivers compliant with AUTOSAR specifications:
  • Port Driver (PORT), DIO, ADC, PWM, GPT, ICU, QSPI, I2C, CAN, DSADC, EVADC
  • Memory drivers: Flash, EEPROM (internal & external), NvM stack
  • MCU driver, WDG driver, MCU clock & power management
  • Implement hardware-specific startup code, interrupt vector tables, and memory-mapped register abstractions.
  • Develop and optimize safety-relevant drivers in compliance with ISO 26262 ASIL requirements (ASIL-B to ASIL-D).
  • Integrate vendor-supplied MCAL packages; raise and track deviations with IP providers.

Motor Control Integration Support

  • Interface BSW/LLD components with motor control application software (e.g., FOC algorithms, resolver/encoder handling, gate driver control).
  • Configure ADC triggering schemes synchronized with PWM cycles for current sensing in three-phase inverter topologies.
  • Support integration of gate driver SPI communication, current sensor calibration routines, and motor temperature management drivers.
  • Collaborate with control engineers on timing constraints, interrupt latencies, and DMA configurations impacting control loop performance.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in automotive embedded software development with at least 3 years in AUTOSAR BSW / MCAL development.
  • Demonstrable project experience on inverter, motor controller, or high-voltage powertrain ECU programmers.
  • Proficiency in EB Tresos Studio for BSW module configuration and ETAS toolchain (ISOLAR-A/B) for SWC/RTE workflows.
  • Strong understanding of AUTOSAR Classic Platform architecture (layers: Application, RTE, BSW, MCAL, Complex Drivers).
  • Working knowledge of automotive communication protocols: CAN, CAN-FD, LIN, and optionally FlexRay / Automotive Ethernet.
  • Experience with Infineon AURIX 32-bit automotive microcontroller family
  • Practical knowledge of ISO 26262 functional safety requirements at driver / BSW level (ASIL-B or higher).
  • Familiarity with Vector tools: CANoe, CANalyzer, CANdb++, vFlash.
