The Assistant Manager supports the Store Manager in overseeing daily business operations and driving store performance, including safety, efficiency, customer satisfaction, and profitability. This role helps ensure smooth shop operations, promotes customer retention and business growth, and assists with inventory management, cost control, environmental compliance, and workplace safety. The Assistant Manager serves as a key leader within the store, fostering a collaborative, productive, and customer-focused work environment.

The Assistant Manager will gain hands-on experience in all aspects of business operations, team leadership, financial performance, customer relations, and shop management while working closely with the Store Manager. Responsibilities
As a Midas Assistant Manager, you will assist in managing and directing automotive and general service technicians in the operation of the shop, including:
Support recruiting, hiring, training, motivating, evaluating, scheduling, and coaching employees
Deliver exceptional customer service by listening to and consulting with customers regarding vehicle needs
Follow up with customers regarding requested services, repair status, and estimated completion times
Assist in overseeing vehicle inspections and preparing comprehensive repair recommendations
Build computerized repair orders and help source required parts
Present and discuss repair estimates and promote shop service specials
Help lead, train, and motivate team members while reinforcing the company's vision, values, and culture
Support sales, accounting, and administrative functions performed by Service Advisors
Assist in overseeing technicians performing inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on domestic, European, and Asian vehicles and light trucks
Help maintain accurate inventory counts and monitor inventory control procedures
Assist in controlling operating expenses and supporting profitability goals
Ensure facility cleanliness, organization, and environmental compliance standards are maintained
Assist with payroll processing, employee scheduling, and timekeeping records
Help prepare and submit daily sales and operational reports
Support the Store Manager in achieving sales, productivity, and customer satisfaction goals
Monitor adherence to company policies, procedures, and safety standards
Act as Manager-on-Duty in the absence of the Store Manager
Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of assistant management, supervisory, or leadership experience, preferably in automotive service, or related industries
General automotive knowledge and understanding of vehicle maintenance and repair services
Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills
Strong verbal and written communication abilities
Proficiency with POS systems, computer applications, and internet-based tools
Leadership and team-building skills with the ability to motivate employees
Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
Ability to work a flexible retail schedule, including Saturday (Closed: Sunday's)
Valid driver's license required
Automotive service experience preferred
ASE certifications, automotive training, or relevant coursework are a plus
