About the Opportunity
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Assistant Service Manager to join our growing automotive repair team in Lisle, IL. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys helping customers, and can confidently assist with both service advising and day-to-day shop operations.
The right candidate will play a key leadership role in delivering exceptional customer service, maintaining workflow efficiency, and supporting technicians and management alike.
Responsibilities
- Assist in managing daily shop operations and workflow
- Write service and communicate directly with customers
- Build estimates and explain repair recommendations clearly
- Coordinate vehicle scheduling and technician dispatching
- Maintain strong communication between customers and technicians
- Help ensure repairs are completed efficiently and accurately
- Monitor repair status and provide customer updates throughout the day
- Support team productivity and shop organization
- Assist with maintaining high customer satisfaction and retention
- Handle escalated customer concerns professionally
Qualifications
- Previous automotive service advisor or service management experience required
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced shop environment
- Experience writing service and building estimates
- Leadership mentality with strong organizational skills
- Knowledge of automotive repair processes and terminology
- Experience with shop management software preferred
- Valid driver’s license required
