Summary:
  • We are seeking an exceptional Instructor-Expert whose primary focus is delivering high-impact, hands-on training.
  • This role is centered on teaching engineers and tradespeople who maintain the worldâ€s most advanced automation systems.
  • This is a unique "Teacher-Builder" role: you will spend approximately two-third's of your year traveling and instructing technical courses on-site, and one-third of your year designing and perfecting the world-class curriculum that supports that instruction
Job Description:
Work Breakdown
  • 65% Instruction: Facilitating technical courses in Robotics, PLCs, Vision Systems, and Motion Control
  • 35% Development: Creating manuals, lab exercises, and competency-based evaluations
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead On-Site Training
    Serve as the primary instructor for hands-on training sessions at customer facilities. Must be comfortable leading a classroom, remaining on your feet, and troubleshooting live industrial hardware in real time.
  • Instructional Path Design
    Apply instructional design principles (e.g., Bloomâ€s Taxonomy) to develop structured learning paths that guide students from foundational knowledge to advanced troubleshooting.
  • Develop Accessible Content
    Create clear, concise technical manuals and competency-based evaluations. Translate complex engineering concepts into accessible language (approximately a 9th-grade reading level) to maximize adult learner comprehension.
  • Create Hands-On Labs
    Design and document lab activities that simulate real-world manufacturing challenges and improve student proficiency.
  • SME Collaboration
    Partner with engineers and automation experts to capture accurate technical knowledge and incorporate it into course content and instruction.
Requirements:
  • Technical Instruction Expertise: Proven experience teaching technical subjects to adult learners (andragogy), with hands-on training experience in one or more of the following:
    • PLCs (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens)
    • Industrial Robotics (e.g., Fanuc, ABB, KUKA)
    • Vision Systems or Motion Control
  • Field Readiness: Ability and willingness to travel up to 75% to customer sites across various manufacturing environments.
  • Curriculum Development Skills: Strong ability to clearly and concisely document technical procedures and develop effective training materials
