Our client, a leading organization in the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry, is seeking an Automation Engineer to join their team. As an Automation Engineering Specialist, you will be part of the Manufacturing Operations supporting engineering and automation teams. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach, which will align successfully within the organization.

Job Title: Automation Engineering Specialist 

Location:Pearl River, New York

Pay Range: DOE 

What's the Job?

  • Support manufacturing process control systems to ensure high success rates and minimal downtime.
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on equipment and systems to ensure safety, efficiency, and reliability.
  • Analyze operational issues and recommend corrective and preventative actions to optimize performance.
  • Modify control logic and install electrical and control systems to improve system performance and resolve issues.
  • Collaborate with production teams to coordinate activities and reduce equipment downtime.
  • Programming capability:
    • Ladder Logic
    • SQL Databases & Reporting Services
    • Client / Human Machine Interface (HMI) Software (GE iFix, or similar)

What's Needed?

  • Bachelor's or Associate's Degree with 4+ years of experience 
  • Hands on experience programming industrial control systems such as DCS, PLCs, SCADAs, Historians, and SQL Server.
  • Experience troubleshooting issues and implementing effective corrective actions.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and training skills.
  • Knowledge of shop safety practices, including handling potentially dangerous equipment.
