Apply today and help power the systems that keep our world running.Tesco Controls is seeking an Automation Engineer to support the development and implementation of control systems for water and wastewater treatment processes. This role involves designing and programming PLC, OIT, and SCADA applications based on engineering drawings and specifications, ensuring accurate and efficient system functionality. The position includes responsibilities for bench and panel testing to validate performance against project requirements, as well as assisting with on‑site startup and troubleshooting. This is an excellent opportunity to apply technical expertise in a hands‑on, collaborative environment while contributing to critical infrastructure projects.What you will doWrite PLC and SCADA operating programs based upon control specification and/or Tesco standards to assure safe, reliable and optimal equipment operationWrite (publish) concise operating instructions detailing; control parameters and their effects under normal and failure conditionsProvide technical assistance (phone or job-site) to verify and/or modify PLC/SCADA programsWork with various departments internally, along with consulting engineers, customers and end-users to assure proper programming for the system layouts and designsAnalyze and interpret existing programs and documentation for project modificationsEnsure assignments and work schedules follow policy and proceduresCommunicate effectively to a wide range of internal and external contactsSupport multiple smaller scaled projectsProvide weekly content and job status reports used with scheduling toolsExecute successful unassisted start-ups of complex sitesDemonstrates ability to perform technical leadership role on projectsAssigned to perform quality checks for projects engineered by peersAbility to conduct customer facing workshops and trainingsAll other duties assignedDemonstrated SkillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent attention to detailHigh level of organizational and time management skillsFamiliarity with industrial automation programming best practicesEducation & KnowledgeBachelor's degree in Computer Programming, Computer Science, Computer Technology, Engineering, related fieldBasic knowledge of ladder logic and structured text programmingBasic knowledge of programming languages such as C, C++, JavaBasic understanding of computer operations, Microsoft OfficeWorking knowledge of instruments and electro‑mechanical devices used for process controlExperiencePreferred 2 years of experienceRequiredDaily travelPay offered will be based on several factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, and geographic location.
