A leading advanced electronics manufacturing organization is seeking a highly motivated Automation Engineer (Mechanical) to support the design, development, and implementation of automation solutions within a high-volume production environment.This role focuses on New Product Introduction (NPI), PCBA manufacturing, system assembly, and production automation initiatives for cutting-edge technology products.The ideal candidate brings strong mechanical engineering fundamentals along with hands‑on experience in automation, fixture design, process optimization, and equipment integration , working cross‑functionally to improve manufacturing efficiency, quality, and scalability.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and implement automated manufacturing equipment, tooling, fixtures, and workstations supporting PCBA and system‑level assembly processesSupport New Product Introduction (NPI) by developing scalable manufacturing solutions that enhance efficiency and qualityCollaborate with cross‑functional teams (Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Operations, Program Management) to support product development, prototype builds, and production rampCreate and maintain engineering documentation including mechanical drawings, BOMs, work instructions, specifications, and ECOsGenerate detailed 2D drawings and BOMs from 3D CAD models and integrate with ERP systemsPerform DFM (Design for Manufacturability), DFA (Design for Assembly), and process capability reviewsSupport First Article Inspection (FAI) and engineering validation buildsDesign and develop assembly fixtures, test fixtures, jigs, and poka‑yoke systems to improve quality and throughputIdentify opportunities for automation, labor reduction, cycle time improvement, and cost savingsPartner with SMT, PCBA, system assembly, and test teams to improve production efficiency and equipment utilizationSupport equipment installation, qualification, troubleshooting, and continuous improvementConduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for manufacturing and equipment‑related issuesInterface with suppliers and automation vendors on equipment selection, design reviews, and FAT/SAT activitiesStay current on automation technologies, robotics, machine vision, and Industry 4.0 trendsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics , or related fieldMinimum 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, automation, or NPI environmentsStrong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skillsSolid understanding of manufacturing processes and automation principlesProficiency in CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD, or similar)Experience creating mechanical drawings, GD&T, and engineering documentationKnowledge of DFM, DFA, FMEA, and process validation methodologiesProficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, high‑volume manufacturing environmentPreferred QualificationsExperience in electronics manufacturing, PCBA, SMT, or system integration environmentsFamiliarity with robotics, pneumatics, motion control, machine vision, and sensorsExperience with ERP/SAP or PLM systemsBackground supporting server, AI, networking, or high‑performance computing productsExperience with automation cells, conveyors, and material handling systemsFamiliarity with IPC standardsExperience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologiesExposure to Industry 4.0 or smart factory initiativesPrior project management or leadership experience is a plusCompensation$80,000 – $105,000 annuallyFull Benefits: Health, Dental, Vision, 401k, PTO#J-18808-Ljbffr
