Automation Engineer
Objective Design, develop, and maintain automated systems and processes in a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Build and deploy automation systems from design through implementation
- Integrate IT systems
- Develop process control strategies and validate system performance
- Manage vendor and integrator relationships
- Maintain project schedules, budgets, and documentation
- Diagnose and resolve system failures via root cause analysis
- Train end-users on automation systems
- Evaluate new technologies to improve automation capabilities
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- 7+ years of automation engineering in manufacturing
- Proficiency with Automation platforms (PLC, HMI, DCS, etc.)
- Programming skills in Python, Java, C++, or LabVIEW
- Experience with industrial and collaborative robotics
- Familiarity with cybersecurity principles for industrial environments
- Knowledge of industry safety standards and protocols
- Experience with Microsoft Office, Jira, Minitab, SolidWorks
Preferences
- Master's degree in a related discipline
- Project management experience
