Job Title: Automation Engineer
Location: New Albany, OH

Position Summary

Seeking a mid-level Automation Engineer to support the design, integration, commissioning, qualification, validation, and operation of automated warehouse and packaging systems in a GMP-regulated environment. The role focuses on ASRS, AGVs, packaging automation, and system integration while ensuring compliance with cGMP, FDA, and 21 CFR Part 11 requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the design, integration, startup, and operation of automated warehouse and packaging systems.
  • Lead Commissioning, Qualification, and Validation (CQV) activities and ensure operational readiness.
  • Develop and maintain automation, controls, and compliance documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with cGMP, FDA, 21 CFR Part 11, data integrity, and safety requirements.
  • Collaborate with Packaging, Warehouse, Quality, CSV, IT/OT teams, vendors, and system integrators.
  • Support and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, and SCADA platforms (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, PanelView, RSView).
  • Drive automation reliability, continuous improvement, and Industry 4.0 initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Automation, Electrical, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline.
  • Experience in GMP-regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Hands-on experience with industrial automation, controls, and system integration.
  • Knowledge of Computer System Validation (CSV), 21 CFR Part 11, data integrity, OT/IT integration, and industrial networking.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to travel occasionally.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with ASRS, AGVs, robotics, and automated material handling systems.
  • Knowledge of warehouse automation and packaging line integration.
  • Proficiency with PLC/HMI/SCADA systems (Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
  • Familiarity with Industry 4.0 and IIoT technologies.
  • Experience with CQV and GMP compliance.
