Job Title: Automation Engineer
Location: New Albany, OHPosition Summary
Seeking a mid-level Automation Engineer to support the design, integration, commissioning, qualification, validation, and operation of automated warehouse and packaging systems in a GMP-regulated environment. The role focuses on ASRS, AGVs, packaging automation, and system integration while ensuring compliance with cGMP, FDA, and 21 CFR Part 11 requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the design, integration, startup, and operation of automated warehouse and packaging systems.
- Lead Commissioning, Qualification, and Validation (CQV) activities and ensure operational readiness.
- Develop and maintain automation, controls, and compliance documentation.
- Ensure compliance with cGMP, FDA, 21 CFR Part 11, data integrity, and safety requirements.
- Collaborate with Packaging, Warehouse, Quality, CSV, IT/OT teams, vendors, and system integrators.
- Support and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, and SCADA platforms (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, PanelView, RSView).
- Drive automation reliability, continuous improvement, and Industry 4.0 initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Automation, Electrical, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline.
- Experience in GMP-regulated manufacturing environments.
- Hands-on experience with industrial automation, controls, and system integration.
- Knowledge of Computer System Validation (CSV), 21 CFR Part 11, data integrity, OT/IT integration, and industrial networking.
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to travel occasionally.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with ASRS, AGVs, robotics, and automated material handling systems.
- Knowledge of warehouse automation and packaging line integration.
- Proficiency with PLC/HMI/SCADA systems (Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
- Familiarity with Industry 4.0 and IIoT technologies.
- Experience with CQV and GMP compliance.
