Automation / Controls Specialist

What You'll Do
• Develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC programs for automation systems
• Design and implement control logic including ladder logic, function block, and structured text
• Install, test, and maintain control panels, HMIs, and industrial networks
• Diagnose and resolve electrical and control system issues to minimize downtime
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs
• Configure and integrate VFDs, sensors, and automation components
• Support system design, testing, and continuous improvement efforts
• Ensure compliance with UL 891, UL 1008, and other electrical standards
• Provide technical support to production, field service, and sales teams
• Assist with quotes and bills of materials

Travel monthly for out of state site visits and service calls

What We're Looking For
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
• 3+ years of automation or controls experience preferred
• Strong PLC programming and troubleshooting experience
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
• Working knowledge of industrial automation systems and components
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Pay & Schedule
• Competitive salary based on experience
• Monday through Friday schedule (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
• Overtime as needed

Additional Information
• Frequent travel required
• Work environment is primarily office based with occasional shop and field work
• PPE required in designated areas including steel toe boots and safety glasses
• Position reports directly to the General Manager
