We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Autodesk Developer to drive the customization, automation, and optimization of our engineering design platform. This role requires a rare combination of advanced Autodesk expert-level usage and deep software development capabilities. You will design, build, and maintain custom API layers, plugins, and web services to connect our Autodesk environment with enterprise systems. Exposure to modern generative AI, specifically Anthropic Claude integration, is a strong plus to help us future-proof our automation pipeline.
Key Responsibilities
Autodesk Customization & Development
Develop custom plugins, add-ins, and scripts across the Autodesk suite (AutoCAD, Revit, Inventor, or Fusion).
Architect and maintain custom API layers to seamlessly sync CAD data with ERP, PLM, and database systems.
Automate complex, repetitive drafting, modeling, and data-extraction workflows to eliminate manual errors.
Build custom user interfaces (UIs) directly inside Autodesk software to streamline the designer workflow.
Platform Services & Integration
Utilize Autodesk Platform Services (Client / Forge) to develop cloud-based geometry viewers and data pipelines.
Manage webhooks, event-driven triggers, and RESTful web services to ensure real-time data flow.
Optimize code performance to handle massive 3D models and extensive enterprise database transactions.
AI R&D (Good to Have)
Explore integrations between Autodesk APIs and modern LLMs like Anthropic''s Claude.
Prototype AI-driven features, such as natural language CAD scripting or automated design checking against regulatory codes.
Required Qualifications
Core Technical Skills (Must Have)
Autodesk Mastery: Deep, expert-level functional knowledge of major Autodesk platforms.
API Development: Proven track record building robust API layers and custom enterprise integrations.
Programming: Advanced proficiency in C# (.NET), C++, or Python for Autodesk desktop/cloud environments.
Customization Frameworks: Experience with ObjectARX, Revit API, Inventor API, AutoLISP, or Fusion API.
Education & Experience
Degree: Bachelor's in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or an Engineering discipline with a heavy focus on software development.
Experience: 5+ years of pure software development experience explicitly targeting engineering or architecture automation.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
Direct experience implementing Anthropic Claude API or equivalent LLM orchestration frameworks (e.g., LangChain).
Familiarity with vector databases, RAG architecture, or prompt engineering for processing technical documentation.
