Job Summary
Garrick-Santo Landscape Co is seeking an experienced Shop Mechanic to keep our landscape and snow equipment running safely and reliably. This role is responsible for preventive maintenance, mechanical repairs, and troubleshooting across a wide range of trucks, small engines, and heavy equipment. The right person takes pride in quality work, solves problems efficiently, and helps keep our crews productive in the field.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on landscape and snow equipment
- Diagnose and troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical issues
- Repair and maintain gas and diesel engines
- Inspect equipment to identify wear, damage, and safety concerns
- Log maintenance and repair activity accurately in fleet maintenance software
- Coordinate repairs to minimize downtime and keep equipment job-ready
- Support field crews by ensuring trucks, trailers, and equipment are operational
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment
Qualifications
- 3+ years of mechanic experience, preferably in landscape, construction, fleet, or heavy equipment
- Strong diagnostic and repair skills
- Experience working with hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and gas/diesel engines
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Must have your own tools
Preferred Qualifications (NOT REQUIRED)
- CDL
- Hoisting license
- Welding experience
