The Department of Economic Security, Division of Employment and Rehabilitation Services (DERS) strengthens Arizona communities by bridging and minimizing gaps to employment and independence. DES is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as an Auditor Supervisor with the Quality Assurance and Integrity Administration (QAIA). This position oversees a unit that performs federally required benefit Accuracy Measurement (BAM) and Benefit Timeliness and Quality (BTQ) audit work. The purpose of this position is to support the manager with planning, organizing and supervising the BAM and BTQ functions in order to establish and monitor programmatic activities within the administration. Travel will be required for State business. Employees must possess a current, valid driver's license, complete required training, and pass necessary driver's license record checks. Employees who drive on State business are subject to driver's license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and complete required driver training. Employees who operate a personally owned vehicle on State business must maintain required liability insurance. All work, including remote work, should be performed within Arizona unless an exception is authorized in advance.Job DutiesSupervise and monitor the daily operations of Auditor 2's.Conduct BTQ tripartite reviews and BAM case reviews (1st level) of completed audits.Review the weekly case pull counts on the master workbook to ensure the unit is on track to meet the annual paid and denied sample requirements.Ensure compliance with the Department of Labor selection criteria, and check and adjust scheduled work assignments based on workload, staffing levels, and staff availability.Develop strategies for team building, motivation and recognition for the unit.Develop performance plans, SMAART Goals, and monitor weekly, monthly, and annual staff performance results.Assist with Federal reviews, discuss and incorporate DOL suggestions, and make necessary corrections to the BAM Method and Procedures, forms, and questionnaires, as applicable.Assist the BAM Manager to develop, plan, and implement BTQ and BAM procedures, goals, objectives, timetables, and performance metrics.Travel out of state at least twice a year to participate in BAM and BTQ Peer Reviews.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs)Knowledge in:Managerial and leadership principles and practices sufficient to plan and direct the work of subordinates.DES services and how programs across divisions are interrelated.Skill in:Interpretation and application of Federal and State laws, rules and regulations.Management of multiple projects and/or tasks at the same time.Analyzing, evaluating, and interpreting raw data and case information to implement solutions which would increase efficiency in the UI program.Ability to:Communicate orally and in writing at a high level.Read, understand, and interpret complex issues, laws, rules, regulations and policies.Evaluate staff performance and program compliance with established policies and procedures.Selective Preference(s)The ideal candidate for this position will have:A minimum of two years' experience as a UI adjudication deputy.Knowledge of the Department of Labor random audit procedures gained through on-the-job experience and Department of Labor training.Previous experience in UI law, policies, and procedures.Preferred Spanish/English proficiency.Pre-Employment RequirementsSuccessfully pass background and reference checks; employment is contingent upon completion of the above-mentioned process and the agency's ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions.All newly hired State employees are subject to and must successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify).BenefitsThe Arizona Department of Economic Security offers a comprehensive benefits package to include:Affordable medical, dental, life, and short-term disability insurance plansParticipation in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS) and long-term disability plans10 paid holidays per yearPaid vacation and sick timePaid Parental Leave – Up to 12 weeks per year paid leave for newborn or newly-placed foster/adopted child.Deferred compensation planWellness plansTuition ReimbursementStipend OpportunitiesInfant at Work ProgramRideshare and Public Transit SubsidyCareer Advancement & Employee Development OpportunitiesLearn more about the Paid Parental Leave program.
