Job Summary

The Audit Data Analyst supports the Internal Audit department by applying data analytics to improve audit effectiveness and efficiency. This role is ideal for an early-career professional with strong analytical skills who is building experience in internal auditing.

The analyst assists audit teams by extracting, analyzing, and visualizing data to identify trends, anomalies, and risks. The position also supports development of data-driven audit procedures and helps translate data insights into clear, practical information for auditors and management.

Responsibilities

• Data Analysis: Extract, clean, and analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, risks, and unusual activity.
• Data Visualization: Develop dashboards and visual reports using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Excel to support audit conclusions.
• Audit Support: Assist auditors in designing and performing data-driven audit testing.
• Data Validation: Verify completeness and accuracy of data used in audit analyses.
• Automation Support: Assist with development and improvement of repeatable analytics and automated testing routines.
• Collaboration: Work with audit staff to understand business processes and data requirements.
• Reporting: Present results in clear, concise formats suitable for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Continuous Learning: Build knowledge of internal audit practices, risk assessment, and internal controls while expanding analytical skills.

Qualifications

:

Minimum Hiring Qualifications:

A bachelor''s degree and two years of related experience, or a combination of education and experience.

Preferred Hiring Qualifications:

• Master's degree (or recent graduate) in Data Analytics, Data Science, Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to work with large datasets.
• Experience with data analysis tools such as SQL, Excel, Power BI, Tableau, Python, or similar tools.
• Basic understanding of internal controls or auditing concepts (academic or practical exposure acceptable).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to learn quickly and work collaboratively within a team environment.
• Exposure to internal audit processes through internships, coursework, or practical experience.
• Experience working with ERP or financial system data.
• Familiarity with statistical or data validation techniques.
• Interest in pursuing professional certifications (CIA, CISA, or data analytics certifications).
