Job Details

Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Audit Associate to join our public accounting team. This role is responsible for supporting audit and assurance engagements for a diverse client base across multiple industries. The Audit Associate will work closely with senior staff and managers to perform financial statement audits, evaluate internal controls, and assist clients with compliance and reporting requirements.

This position offers strong exposure to public accounting practices, client interaction, technical accounting standards, and professional development opportunities within a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities:
Assist in planning and executing financial statement audits, reviews, and other assurance engagements
Perform audit testing and substantive procedures for various account balances and transactions
Prepare and organize audit workpapers in accordance with firm and professional standards
Analyze financial data and identify discrepancies, risks, or unusual trends
Evaluate internal controls and document audit findings
Reconcile general ledger accounts and supporting schedules
Communicate with clients to obtain financial documentation and supporting information
Assist with preparation of financial statements and related disclosures
Ensure engagements are completed within established timelines and budgets
Maintain confidentiality of client financial information and firm data
Stay current on accounting principles, auditing standards, and industry regulations
Collaborate with team members to support multiple client engagements simultaneously

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required
CPA eligibility preferred or actively pursuing CPA certification
Internship or prior public accounting experience preferred but not required
Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and auditing standards
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software systems
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Skills:
Experience with audit software or ERP systems
Knowledge of financial reporting and internal controls
Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships
Willingness to travel locally for client engagements as needed

Work Environment:

This position operates in a professional office environment with a combination of in-office and client-site work. Extended hours may be required during peak audit and reporting periods.
