Audiology Clinical Assistant
Audiology Associates in Santa Rosa, CA is seeking to hire an Audiology Assistant to assist the audiologist. This is a full-time position, room to grow. Prior, Audiology/ENT or Medical Assistant experience a plus.
Hearing Aid Related Tasks:
• Verify the Audiologist has reviewed the hearing aid for programming; verifying patient’s picking up hearing aids and if they need an appointment for fitting.
• Performs hearing aid orientation, including basic care and use of the hearing aid (insertion,
removal, adjusting volume, etc.)
• Demonstrates and sells Assistive Listening Devices (ALD’s), batteries, and other special products.
• Receives and verifies hearing aids orders, including: verifies hearing aids are working correctly;
programs hearing aids to specifications in NOAH; enters serial numbers in CounselEAR; logs date of receipt into patient charts; completes purchase agreements; fit forms, and fit case.
• Verifies hearing aid invoices, including: Checks manufacturer invoices for correct charges, credit
and warrantees; copies invoices for billing to ensure payment; completes paperwork for returned hearing aids.
• Performs sound check of hearing aids, verifying the aids are in working order.
• Tracks used hearing aids available for purchase and any hearing aids available for loan
• Performs EAC, FIT, balance testing, or other appointments upon request of the Audiologist.
Rooming Patients:
• Rooms patients according to procedure
• Select appropriate hearing aid cords and plugs them in
• Cleans rooms between patients, verifies supplies in rooms, cleaning tips for penlight and Tymphanometry.
• Shuts down all equipment in booth room, hearing aid fitting room, lab and diagnostics room and
verifying all rooms are clean at the end of the day.
Performs Administrative Support Duties:
• Send copies of audios and letters; including to new patients, ABR/VNG/APD Patients.
• May perform support duties for FOS; including filing charts as needed.
• Ensure Audio and letters are sent to Financial Controller/Biller when prior auth is required for HA’s.
• Assist with training and mentoring externs.
Miscellaneous Duties:
• Verify all manufacturer software for NOAH and computers is up to date and the most current, also responsible setting up weekly provider and staff meetings and creating detailed instructions for other staff to follow if out (as needed).
• Performs front office/desk duties on an as needed basis.
• Completes basic paperwork such as repair forms, purchase agreements, and warranty information, chart and Sycle documentation.
• Maintains inventory of clinical supplies.
• Assisting customers with exchanges or returns as needed.
• Provides excellent customer service and maintains good public relations.
• Follows good safety and infection control protocols; Adhere to HIPPA Guidelines.
• Daily Check-Ins with the Audiologist to discuss week plan for patients.
• Schedule CEU for the Audiologist.
• Maintain and track CEU.
• Maintain and track license renewals and memberships.
