Position Title: Audiology Evaluation Coordinator

Position Summary:
The Audiology Evaluation Coordinator will provide administrative and internal support for a successful Audiology Department. Responsibilities include customer service, family scheduling, coordination of services, billing, coding, insurance eligibility, filing and claim management, medical records management, credentialing maintenance and set up, accounting, and reporting responsibilities for Audiological services provided to students and Audiological Clinical Services (outside referrals and Newborn Hearing Evaluation Center: NHEC), and assist with Audiology technology management.  
 
Key Responsibilities: 
  • Schedule appointments while adhering to all HIPAA standards and security protocols. 
  • Manage billing, accounts receivable, payment posting for all Audiological Clinical Services while maintaining all needed financial and statistical reporting. 
  • Responsible for insurance verification and eligibility of families receiving billable Audiologic services and coordinating reconciliation of all family charges.
  • Coordinate and maintain complete and accurate medical records while ensuring compliance with department and school policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate and maintain Audiology insurance credentialing and licensure. 
  • Perform duties to support the mission as assigned.  (Including but not limited to celebration events, holiday activities, school functions and student drop-off and pick-up.)
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience: 
  • Bilingual with proficiency in Spanish and English required.
  • High School Diploma or GED required. Associate’s degree is preferred in Healthcare Administration or related field.
  • At least one year of customer service and/or administrative receptionist experience is required.
  • Ability to handle confidential medical and financial information is required. 
  • Ability to multi-task and positively manage complex and challenging situations is required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with both children and adults are required.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and willingness to learn, take recommendations, and collaborate with team members is required.
  • Additional training or certification in medical billing and coding is preferred. 
  • Knowledgeable of commercial insurance standards, procedures, requirements, billing coding, and Texas Standard of Insurance Rules and Regulations.
 
Physical Demands:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hand to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk; hear and have good vision.  
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35-50 pounds.
